Naj plaže:
-Balos, skrajni SZ otoka, dostop po 8km hudega makadama ali po zasoljeni ceni z ladjo.
-Vai, skrajni SV Krete, najbolj tropska plaža v Evropi, saj je obrasla z endemičnimi palmami. Slednje je mogoče občudovati tudi v zalivu Preveli.
-Na jugu so lepi obalni kotički v okolici Matale.
Soteska Samaria
za hribovce ni ne vem kaj- se splača skrajšat 16 km dolgo pot in z morske strani obiskat le najožji del – kakšno uro hoda.

Naj plaže so ob zahodni obali in dostopne le z lastnim prevozom:
-Porto Katsiki, najlepše je seveda zgodaj zjutraj ter izven glavne sezone.
-Egremni, Yialos, Kathisma, Pefkoulia

KRF
Plaže:
Rt Drastis je najbolj spektakularen a le za občudovat, v bližini so dostopne plaže pod klifom pri kraju Peroluades, blizu žurerskega mesta Sidari je več skalnih zalivov, tudi Canal d'amour.
Dolge peščene plaže so predvsem na JZ.Vredno obiska: mesto Krf, palača Ahilion, Muzej školjk, najvišja otoška gora Pantokrator (917 m)-dostop po cesti, Paleokastritsa s samostanom in zalivi večinoma dostopnimi z morske strani.
Prenočišča accommodation:
Agios-Gordis-Rožnata palača je udoben hotel po ugodni ceni z obilici zabave, pretežno po okusu mladih- www.thepinkpalace.com Za okoli 20 eur na dan dobiš tudi zajtrk in večerjo ter zabavo v hotelskem nočnem klubu, za doplačilo pa je na voljo obilo športnih aktivnosti.
Zaliv s skalnimi osamelci je zanimiv za pogledat, plaža pa nič posebnega. Je pa ob obali veliko manjših peščenih zalivčkov, kjer si skrit pred radovedneži.
Dassia,
severno od prestolnice ob dolgem zalivu avtokamp Karda beach www.kardacamp.gr Imajo tudi lično opremljene bungalove v senci starih oljk. Tu je še restavracija in bazen ter plaža 10 m stran.

CRETE
it is one of the first traditional style resorts in Greece. Village is bult from remains of the old stone houses. There is also an etnographic museum, 5 artists who are working and seling their products, During the busiest period they organize on Wednesdays Crete day with music , dance ect, at the end of the weekends there are wedings in the chapel...interesting place to be! Double rooms from 55, there is a nice swiming pool also. 11 m from Hirakleon, left rowards village Anogia.
AQUARIUM
8 Eur,worth the money, as it is one of the best in Europe! Big tanks, sharks, lots of animals, ambiental music... Free parking.
ELOUNDA
nice small town in a lagoon, perhaps best in SE Crete. some km further I slept in
BLUE PALACE RESORT&SPA www.bluepalace.gr
one of the best in the island, specialy spa, superb views from all rooms and restaurants, half of the rooms are with private pool, there is also nice private pebled beach - again with the wiev to Spinalonga island...Even if it is quite big it is built with a natural stone (front), so you don't feel to bi in a big hotel and you hardly meet other guests.
VAI
If you want to skip crowds go to the right, past the view point and in 10 min to the next hidden cove-calm, nice, sandy beach BUT NO PALMS AND SHADOW -
MATALA
Red Beach (30min) is a must. Camping is closed for some years, but the gates are open, showers working (cold ) and near are the public toalets- nice option for free camping!
ZAROS
Ms Katerina is preparing superb breakfast-I got 16 different pies...She doesn't speak English, but her daughter does. Her sister Vivi is also faboulus cook - she runs restaurant Vegera
just 100 m away. Menu is around 10 eur and you get 4-5 different cretan dishes,dessert, coffee, raki...
The rooms at Keramos are interesting becouse of old Cretan and family pictures.
PLAKIAS

SAMARIAS george
Good option to skip the crowds and sour legs is to take the boat from Chora Sfakia to Ag. Roumeli - at 10.30, back at 17.30, 17eur return.
There is plenty of time for a walk to the most interesting part-Iron gate or more end for a dip in to the sea before return...
VAMOS village
once center of the region but forgotten, is again becoming popular. There are around 20 renoveted old houses for rent (55-200 eur-some with the pool). Center of life is agency
with Jorgas-George, who started revitalisation 15 years ago with some friends. He also runs art caffee Liakoto with exevitions and live performances and worjks with shop Myrovolo which sells products from the locals. The office is a source of info about walks, interesting places etc. Beside renting houses they organize guided walks, and visit to the farms - oil, vine, cheese testing. One can also combine vacation with grape, orange, olive picking ec. Last hit are crete diet cooking lessions, held by famous cook Ms. Koula (published 2 books in Canada). After 4 h cours participants eat all the faboulus food with some local wine. Courses are held in old olive press from 1846.
CHANIA CAMPING
is one of the most convenient.
just 4 km from Chania, lots of local buses pasing by, there are big markets around, nice beaches, lots of sport activities incouding bowling...
In camp there is a nice pool, end you can rent an equiped tent or bungalow! The owner also runs travel agency and rents cars and in the agency one can use internet (3 eur per hour)
Internet is free in the Chania library!
BALOS
definetely the best beach on Crete, perhaps Greece and could be on of the top 10 in the world!
Lagoon with almost white sand is stretching between peninsula and small island. The water is traped in the middle and gets warmer (good in spring time), but outer bay is also protected from the big waves. Umbrelas and chairs are witing for the guests and there is a cafee a few 100 m away. Geting there is an adventure: 8 km dirt road from village Kalyviani near Kisamos = 20 min descent with fabolous wievs to the beach. Bad road means 45 min drive with normal car as it is difficoult to drive more than 10 km per hour because of the big holes... It is good to arrive before 11 am as later more people are coming. Mostly with the pricy ship from Kisamos - It coists 24 eur-same with the transfer from Chania. Ride starts at 10 and the ship goes back at 18. They stop on the way at the island Gramvouse so you can visit the ruins of the Venetian fort. Then they disembark guests at Balos beach with a small boats-dingy.
PELOPONES:
I had really nice experience in an old renovated estate
It lies some km from Monemvasia near village Ag. Stephanos. It was opend this spring but already receved a lot of atention as it is really special and carefully restoed- there is spring water running through the hotel flors and than filling the pool with nice views of the distant Monemvasia island. Cosy but not big rooms, good food, relaxing place, good spa. Price? Don't ask! Luxury as well, very expensive but worth the experience!
XENI CAMPING

Camping is really with a Greek charm, as it is family busines for years. Small, nice and clean, 3 beaches in the area and the owners are full of good info.
LEFKADA-LEFKAS
For a quiet and pacefull cove one should go to Poros Beach. There are just few restaurants and some rooms for rent and a camping with some bungalows just a 100 m from the pebbled beach.www.porosbeach.com.gr. Camp is small but really nice kept and with plenty of shadow. Unusual for a camp – guests can use computer with the internet for free!
For a traditional touch a perfect choice is carefully renoveted more then 100 years old house MELI in village Dragano – not far from the best beaches on the island, iclouding Porto Katsiki.
Meli means honey in Greek – the house keeper also sels honey, as some other locals do as well. Village is kind of island center for honey bee keeping... There is only one taverna and no shops – so own transport is a must-but locals are selling food in trucks, which arrive to the village every day. The house can accomodate up to 10 persons in 3 bedrooms and there is a big living room, nice kitchen and tranquil garden with views to the olive groves... Guests can use for free mountain bikes, vegetables from owners garden, computer with internet connection...

Building is not spectacular but the rooms are nice and tastfully equiped. End there is a beach just acros the road, towns Lefkas and Nidri are not far and easy reachable with the bus.
CORFU
Agios Gordis -hotel The Pink Palace is center of fun. Cheap rooms, lots of activities, free night club-a place to be!

Dassia-one of the most handy campings is Karda camp http://www.kardacamp.gr/
Not far from the capital and good base for visiting the rest of the island. They also rent nice equiped bungalows, beach just 10 m away, swiming pool...
